South African restaurants prove themsevles in the top 100

Five South African restaurants have achieved places in the annual S. Pellegrino 100 World's Best Restaurant Awards.

The annual event is internationally acclaimed and universally trusted for its opinions on the best places to eat out on earth. The 100 restaurants are chosen through the votes of quite a large panel of international judges from the Nespresso World's 100 Best Restaurants Academy. This academy is made up of chefs, restaurateurs, food writers and restaurant critics.

So which five S.A. restaurants should we be eating at?
There's Le Quartier Francais in Franschoek which came 37th and also won the award for best restaurant in the Middle East and Africa. Second on the list was La Colombe in Constantia (38th place) followed by Jardine's in Cape Town (79th), Aubergine in Cape Town (96th) and Rust en Vrede in Stellenbosch (98th).

While it's an amazing accomplishment for each and every restaurant it's also something South Africa can take pride in, after all, it really shows the world that even food wise, we have a lot more to offer than some would think.
