Flood Gates Keep Opening to Twitter
Latest news is that Bill Gates (Microsoft fame - in case you missed that decade)has just joined the Twitterati as one of its latest members. He started off with a "Hello World" and then turned his Twitter efforts to raising money for victims of the Haiti earthquake. With over one hundred thousand Bill Gates followers on the microblogging site in less than 24 hours, it's testimony to the power of the Tweet.
The site has reported more than 40 million users and has been acknowleged as a new news source and basically - the best way to keep idle hands busy. You would have guessed that by limiting the number of characters you have to say something would inspire people to sign up. It's probably because as a user - you're immediately in a 'no pressure' environment.
So go ahead - Tweet me. Or Bill. Whichever comes first I guess.
Look for organisations in yoru area to find out how you can get involved in the aid relief programmes in Haiti.
